ATHENS, Ohio – Longwood field hockey was locked in a tight MAC matchup for the first half, but Ohio pulled away with a surge in the third and fourth quarters to win 7-0 on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Through the first 30 minutes, the score remained tight. While Ohio (4-4, 2-1 MAC) controlled the ball, Longwood (2-8, 0-3 MAC) hung tough defensively.

Johanna Hildebrandt scored in the 10
th minute for the home side, but the Lancers kept the score at 1-0 headed into the half.

However, Ohio found new life late in the third quarter to ultimately pull away. Bodhi Littlefield slotted one home unassisted in the 39
th minute, and Ohio was unstoppable from that point on.

While the Lancers found new life in the fourth quarter to earn a trio of penalty corners, the damage had been done.
