ATHENS, Ohio – Longwood field hockey was locked in a tight MAC matchup for the first half, but Ohio pulled away with a surge in the third and fourth quarters to win 7-0 on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
Through the first 30 minutes, the score remained tight. While Ohio (4-4, 2-1 MAC) controlled the ball, Longwood (2-8, 0-3 MAC) hung tough defensively.
 
Johanna Hildebrandt scored in the 10^th minute for the home side, but the Lancers kept the score at 1-0 headed into the half.
 
However, Ohio found new life late in the third quarter to ultimately pull away. Bodhi Littlefield slotted one home unassisted in the 39^th minute, and Ohio was unstoppable from that point on.
 
While the Lancers found new life in the fourth quarter to earn a trio of penalty corners, the damage had been done.
