BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Longwood women's soccer has been knocking on the door to score goals all season. Wednesday night, there wasn't a door left after the Lancers (3-6-2, 1-1 Big South) polished off a 4-0 win over Gardner-Webb (2-7-1, 0-1 Big South).
Peyton Curney scored the opening goal in the first half, and Longwood was off to the races after halftime.
Kaley Unger capped the night with her first collegiate goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Longwood was in control throughout the match for most of the night and outshot Gardner-Webb 24-10.
Curney finally broke through with her third goal of the season in the 27
th minute.
Alex Dinger rocketed a long ball over the top, and Curney split the center backs. She plopped the ball over the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead, and it also went down as her third game winner of the season.
The Lancers never let up in the final 45 minutes to earn their third road win of the season.
In the 48
th minute,
Kiersten Yuhas whipped a cross into the box that ricocheted off a Gardner-Webb defender and straight to
Julia Gill. Gill volleyed it home for her second goal of the season.
In the 64
th minute, Yuhas again found a Lancer in front of the net. This time, she lofted a corner kick, and
Madison Fitzpatrick nodded it home for a 3-0 lead.
Unger capped the scoring off a wonderful ball from
Karleigh Minson in the 84
th minute. Minson bent a cross from the right side to Unger, who promptly sent a screamer into the back of the net for her first career goal at Longwood.
Mary Kate Levush and the Lancer back line added in the work necessary to preserve the shutout, the team's fourth of the season. Levush had five saves.

Longwood stays on the road to wrap up September with a trip to UNC Asheville on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m., and the match will air on ESPN+.
