RADFORD, Va. – After going 5-4 through non-conference play, Longwood men's tennis opened their Big South schedule on the road against Radford. The Lancers dropped the dual by a score of 7-0 to the Highlanders.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Longwood (5-5) lost the opening doubles matches to Radford (6-4), resulting in an early deficit for the Lancers.
Guillermo Cagigas opened singles play for Longwood at No. 1, dropping a closely contested match that needed a tiebreak in the second set. The Lancers then fell victim to several impressive wins by the Highlanders. Although
Luis Reis battled to a seventh point in his match at No. 6, Longwood ultimately fell in their conference opener.
WHAT THEY SAID:
"Tough match for the men today, and I have to give credit to Radford playing well," said Longwood Director of Tennis Adam Jackson. "The guys fought on every court and played well, but didn't the big points. On to the next one."
