Farmville, VA - Since the April 2019 announcement of the construction of the Joan Perry Brock Center (JPB)—Longwood's new on-campus home for university ceremonies, special events and Lancer Basketball—one question has been at the forefront of the minds of basketball fans: how do I get season tickets in JPB?

Longwood Athletics, in collaboration with Longwood's Office of Institutional Advancement announced today information about the season ticket purchasing process for the 2023-2024 inaugural season in JPB, including information on game day experience enhancements and seat selection.

Season tickets in the Joan Perry Brock Center will feature a more streamlined pricing model, with a rate of $100 per season ticket purchased. A season ticket purchase ensures a reserved, padded chair-back seat for all men's and women's home games, upwards of 30 home games each season.

"Accessibility and affordability were important to us in the creation of this plan. We want JPB to be a gathering place, and for Lancer basketball games to be on our fans' calendars between November and March. We want season tickets at a reasonable price point for long-time season ticket holders, families, members of the Farmville community, and even alumni who may travel in from Richmond or one of the other central Virginia areas to watch games in this incredible new venue," remarked athletics director Tim Hall.

For fans who may wish to customize and upgrade their game day experience, gifts to the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund (the Athletic Department's philanthropic fund that provides impact across all 14 varsity programs) offer opportunities to unlock enhancements like game day parking in the Brock Commons Garage, access to game day hospitality in the new, premier Club 64, or upgraded seating to a courtside spot.

"We knew there was no universal approach to how Lancer fans might want to experience game day in JPB, so we sought to create a model in which fans have flexibility over the kind of game day experiences they want to opt into," noted Trey Eggleston, assistant vice president of university priorities.

In addition to the game day experience upgrades available via contributions to the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund, Longwood will also offer staff-curated philanthropic packages for the inaugural season that include tickets, experience enhancements, and more, all at a discounted rate compared to an à la carte approach.

The 2023-2024 Season Ticket Guide also outlines the timeline for implementation of the plan, from gathering interest from current and prospective season ticket holders through March, to the launch of sales and philanthropic contributions in April, culminating in seat selection day on August 26th, 2023.

"Many of our season ticket holders have been loyal in their support of Longwood basketball for many years. They are an integral part of what makes Willett Hall the toughest place to compete in the Big South Conference. It was important to recognize that long-standing support, and reward our current season ticket holders with an exclusive window to purchase tickets and make plans for their seat selection, while also knowing the seating configuration offers incredible opportunities for those who will become a season ticket holder for the first time in JPB," explains Austin Shaver, associate athletic director for brand management and revenue generation.

Key Dates

• February 1st - March 31st: Join the JPB Season Ticket Interest List
• April 1st - April 16th: Exclusive window for current season ticket holders to purchase their JPB season tickets, game day experience enhancements or philanthropic packages and select a time window in August for seat selection.
• April 17th- April 23rd: Exclusive window for new season ticket holders that declared their interest through the official JPB Season Ticket Interest Form to purchase their season tickets and select a time window in August for seat selection.
• April 24th: General public season ticket window begins with opportunity to purchase tickets, game day experience upgrades or philanthropic packages and select time window in August for seat selection.
• August 26th: Seat Selection Day in JPB.
• September 1st: Deadline for gifts to the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund for recognition on the JPB Donor Charter Wall.
• October 31st: Deadline for gifts to the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund for premium upgrades and experiences for the 2023-24 season.
• November 2023: The 2023-24 men's and women's basketball seasons begin in the Joan Perry Brock Center!
