Levine Posts Career Day, But JMU's First Quarter Lead Too Much To Overcome

HOW IT HAPPENED:

A good first 15 minutes by James Madison proved to be the deciding factor, as the Dukes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Morgan Merritt opened the scoring with her first goal of the season.

From that point on, the Lancers adjusted and played even the rest of the way.

When James Madison scored, the Lancer offense quickly answered back the other way in both the second and fourth quarters through Kylie Levine.

For Levine, it was her first career multi-goal game, and she has now scored in back-to-back contests for Longwood.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"Take out the first wuarter, and that's a different game," said Longwood Head Coach Miranda Rigg. "We played some great team hockey and controlled a lot of the game. I'm proud of the way they played and continued to fight to the end. We are getting better game by game."

UP NEXT:
