For Longwood (5-8, 2-3 Big South),

Amelia Carlile added eight saves in goal to go over 100 saves in her freshman season for the Lancers, but High Point's high-octane offense proved to be too much.
Â
Hormes, Rosselli and Pugh all scored within the first eight minutes for High Point as the Panthers ripped off an 8-0 run to start the game.
Â
Smith answered to start a three-run goal for Longwood that trimmed the lead to 8-3, but High Point's defense limited Longwood to two goals through the middle periods. Meanwhile, High Point's offense extended the lead to 17-5 in the third period.
Â
The Lancers played the fourth quarter even, but the damage was done to that point as High Point put the game away.
