Gardner-Webb Hands Longwood Men's Tennis Their Second Big South Loss

FARMVILLE, Va. – Gardner-Webb University didn't pull out any stops as they defeated Longwood 7-0. This marks the second Big South match of the season for the Longwood (5-5) men's tennis team.
Doubles
The No.1 duo of senior
Guillermo Cagigas and junior
Ernest Rocabert scored a 7-6 (7-3) over Victor Putter and Chrisjan Van Wyk. The Runnin' Bulldogs (8-7) retaliated in No.2 and No.3 doubles with two 6-0 wins over the Lancers duos of
Rosen Naydenov and
Yoav Weinberg, and
Nikhil Kulkarni and
Luis Reis, respectively, to clinch the doubles point.
Singles
In No.2 singles graduate
Jourdan Kast was narrowly defeated by Putter 6-4, 6-4. The No.1 and No.3 singles had to be decided via a tiebreaker. Eduardo Dias took the first match over Naydenov, 6-7, 6-2, 6-0. The third singles match went Van Wyk's way as he defeated Cagigas 3-6, 6-4, 11-9. Weinberg,

Luis Reis were defeated in straight sets by Sebastian Harris, Alex Lepine and Enslin, respectively in the last three singles matches.
