• Longwood ground out a 56-48 win over UNC Asheville on the road on Wednesday night.
• The Lancers put together a dominant defensive performance in the first half, holding a potent UNC Asheville offense to 15 total points.
• That defensive effort was enough for Longwood to fend off a furious rally by UNC Asheville after halftime, as the Bulldogs held Longwood to five made shots in the final 20 minutes.

DeShaun Wade and
Zac Watson both finished in double figures and made huge plays late in the game.
• Wade hit four of Longwood's five threes while also converting a pressure-packed one-and-one at the free throw line late in the contest on the way to a game-high 17 points. Watson added 12 points and six rebounds with two huge free throws late to help seal the game.

• Longwood has totaled more assists than turnovers in 14 of 21 games this season. The team has had less than 10 turnovers in a game six times.
• Against N.C. A&T, Longwood had four turnovers, the the lowest in a game since Jan. 25, 2011 against Campbell that saw four Lancer turnovers.
• The team's 12.5 turnovers per game rank as the second-fewest in the Big South, and the team leads the Big South in turnover margin (+2.4).

Series History
• Longwood swept the season series in 2021, winning back-to-back games 70-62 and 64-58 at Charleston Southern.
Juan Munoz had 31 points in the two games, and
DeShaun Wade added 19 points.
Jesper Granlund had 12 in the series finale.
• The matchup with Charleston Southern is being played at CSU for the fourth time in the last five meetings. The two sides played a home-and-home in the 2019-20 season, with Longwood winning both.
• Charleston Southern had won six straight meetings between 2017-19 prior to Longwood winning at Charleston Southern 74-56 in the 2020-21 season on January 8.
