  • Akila Smith had a spectacular performance on Wednesday night grabbing six of more points across four different stat categories - points (18), steals (6), assists (7), and rebounds (7).

  • Adriana Shipp is on a bit of a roll grabbing her third game in a row with double-digit points. Shipp grabbed a career high of four assists in the most recent game at Radford.
  • Longwood has 12 wins on the year, which is the most wins in program history in a single-season.
By The Numbers:
  • Kyla McMakin grabbed 18 against the Bucs, her 11th game straight in double-digits. McMakin grabbed two season-best showings against  Winthrop (27) and Gardner-Webb (33). McMakin also strung four consecutive games with 20 plus points, matching the Longwood record in doing so.
  • Akila Smith has been one of the top shot blockers in the country throughout this season. She ranks first in the Big South with 63, and is ranked fourth on the national leaderboard.  Smith is the only forward in the top 10 under six feet tall.
  • Tra'Dayja Smith is the leading passer in the Big South for the second year in a row, with 115 assists on the year. Smith ranks 17th in the nation.
  • Kyla McMakin and Akila Smith are ranked amongst the top scorers in the Big South. McMakin has strung together eight straight games in double-digit scoring with Smith grabbing 10 plus in the previous three games. This is the second straight season the duo remains in the top five.
  • Kennedy Calhoun has been a menace to opposing guards defensively, and has made a stance for herself going into conference play. Calhoun earned her first ever Freshman of the Week honor after stringing together two more games in double-digit scoring and collecting eight assists last week. She now has 60 steals and ranks first again in the Big South, and tied for 9th nationally in steals - as a freshman point guard.
  • Akila Smith wrote her name in the Longwood record books again with her second career triple double, the third in team history, with a 20-point, 11-rebound, 10-block effort at Sam Houston on Nov. 30.
The Last Meeting:
  • Two of the top teams in the Big South this season collided in North Carolina, but it was Campbell that had the upper hand against Longwood. The Camels put together a defensive masterpiece in the second half of Tuesday's game to take down Longwood.
  • Campbell snapped Longwood's four-game winning streak without its leading scorer, as Shy Tuelle was watching from the sidelines. Teammates Faith Price, Taya Bolden, and Luana Serranho took charge and led the Camels to a double-digit victory in a tight game of basketball until the final ten minutes.
Quoteables:

"We have to come out from the jump and be that aggressor we have been from the jump. We are a great offensive team, but if we can play both sides of the ball, and let out defense feed that offensive push, we'll be unstoppable. Campbell is a good team, and it's going to be a good matchup, but we're confident going into it, knowing it'll be a battle from start to finish." –Kyla McMakin

"We aren't really ever satisfied with anything even though we got the dub. We have to continue picking that up leading into Saturday. We just have to get better every day and just stay in the moment. We have been practicing mindfulness, so just continue listening to our coaches and keep applying it." –Akila Smith
