The Opening Tip:

Longwood hosts its first Big South contest of the season against the Campbell Camels.
The Camels are coming off a season that saw them finish 23-8 (15-3 Big South), falling to Longwood in the Big South Championship game and advancing to the first round of the WNIT.
Today's game will mark the 30th all-time Division-I matchup between the Lancers and the Camels. The two schools faced one another three times during the 2021-22 season, with Campbell coming out victorious in the regular season twice, but fell to Longwood in the conference championship game.
The two teams will face one another again on February 4th in Buies Creek.
The Lancers were picked to finish sixth in the Big South while Campbell was picked to finish third.
Despite defeating Campbell in their last matchup in the Big South Tournament final, the Camels got the best of the Lancers twice in the regular season, winning 69-41 on 1/11/22 and 58-45 on 2/5/22 respectively.

Longwood fell in its Big South premiere to High Point by a score of 79-50.
The game was the 27th all-time Division-I matchup between the Lancers and the Panthers. The two teams will face one another again on February 11th in Farmville.
Adriana Shipp-Davis led the way for Longwood with 14 points, her seventh double-digit scoring output of the season.
Chardonnay Hartley's three assists led the Lancers and were a career-high.
The Lancers out-rebounded the Panthers 39-33 during Thursday's game.
High Point's victory snaps a two-game Longwood winning-streak in the series.
