FARMVILLE, Va. - In their final non-conference dual of 2021, Longwood women's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision on the road to George Mason on Saturday afternoon. 

The victory is the fifth-straight for the Patriots, as they improved to 5-1 on the season after beating a Longwood team on their third match in as many days featuing two road duals sandwiched by their home finale. 

For Longwood, Crystal Nzewi and Addedlaide Thuilot each had a 2-0 day, as they started their dual by recording their doubles win as a pair on the first court over Mason's Jackie Nannery and Francesca Trella, 6-3.The pair improved to 2-2 in the first position of doubles this season, and picked up their third win overall. 

Each followed with an individual win in singles, led by Nzewi's first win on the second court this season. The redshirt junior defeated Brianna Gibbs 6-3, 6-0 in her first appearance on the top two courts, picking up her third win of the season. 

Thuilot improved to 6-5 in singles, winning on the third court 6-4, 6-2 over the Patriots' Savanna Crowell. The victory improved her third position record to 5-3, as she leads the team with six singles wins. 

However, George Mason used a pair of doubles wins to secure the first point before winning four of the six singles matches to improve ice their fifth win of 2021. The Patriots did not lose more than three games in any set across their four wins, led by ace Page La's 14th win of the season.  

WIth their non-conference slate finished, the Lancers will close their Big South season on the road on Saturday, April 10 when they head to Campbell.
