BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell picked up their second Big South win of the season, as they beat Longwood women's tennis 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
 
The Camels (4-8, 2-3 Big South) got out to an early 1-0 lead in doubles play, winning on the first two courts. Campbell's top pair of Ana Castillo and Rhona Cook kicked off the dual with a 6-2 win over Crystal Nzewi and Adelaide Thuilot before Anna-Marie Kopecka and Lucile Pons clinched the point with a 6-3 win on the second court.
 
The Camels continued their momentum in singles play, as consecutive wins on the first three courts clinched the match for Campbell. Ana Castillo picked up her team-best seventh win of the season, beating Maria Saez in the second slot 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 7-5 in singles play and increase the Camel lead to 2-0. Rhona Cook followed with a 6-0, 6-4 win on court one, while Kopecka downed Thuilot 6-2, 6-2 to pick up the deciding fourth point of the match.
 
Saturday's match ended the season for Longwood (3-12, 0-6 Big South) as only the top four teams qualify for the Big South Championship in 2021. The youthful Lancers, composed of five freshman and just one graduating player, featured two players with six singles wins in Maria Saez and Adelaide Thuilot. Emma Nurgazieva picked up four wins in her third season as a Lancer, while Nzewi and Nina Hederich each tallied three.
