FARMVILLE, Va. – For the second time in two days, Longwood women's tennis swept a dual on their home court, beating North Carolina A&T 7-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The win comes just 24 hours after beating Chowan 7-0, as the Lancers (3-5) went a combined 14-0 over the weekend on the New Lancer Courts. Sunday's win is also their third sweep of the season, all coming at home.
 
Longwood got off to a fast start, as Lancer pair Crystal Nzewi and Adelaide Thuilot jumped out to a 6-0 win in the first completed doubles match. Maria Saez and Nina Hederich quickly followed with a 6-2 win, improving the pair's record to a team-best 3-2 and giving Longwood a 1-0 advantage headed into singles play.
 
Thuilot continued the momentum for the Lancers, winning 6-0, 6-2 over Marlene Estenssoro to double the Longwood lead, 2-0. Lancer ace Emma Nurgazieva improved to 3-1 in the first position, beating Ameer Robertson 6-2, 6-2 to pull Longwood within a point of victory.
 
Maria Saez delivered the dual-clinching win in the second position, beating Florielvis Hurtatado 6-1. 6-3 to sink North Carolina A&T (0-9) and improved Longwood's win streak to two. Crystal Nzewi added a win in the fourth slot, 6-3, 6-2 over Manuela Jimenez, improving to 2-2 as the fourth player, while Nina Hederich was awarded the win in the sixth spot after her opponent had to retire to due injury.
 
Trinity Oliver won the lone set for the Aggies, but Alexandra Hincu rallied to win the final two sets and earn a come-from-behind 5-7, 6-1, 10-6 win and secure the Longwood's third sweep of the season. Sunday's singles victory is the second-straight for the freshman, who improved her record to 2-2 on the season.
 
Up next for Longwood is a home dual with Norfolk State on Friday, March 19 at 2 p.m. at the New Lancer Courts.
