Basketball 101: End Game Situations With Coach Tillett

Women's Basketball /

FARMVILLE, Va. – Following Kyla McMakin's dramatic game-winning three at the buzzer to lead Longwood women's basketball past Big South preseason favorite Campbell 54-52, head coach Rebecca Tillett sat down with Sam Hovan, Voice of the Lancers, to break down film of the play.

In the video, Tillett explains how her team managed the final 12.5 seconds with no timeouts. The Lancers had recorded a stop on defense the possession prior, and the team's last timeout advanced the ball to the frontcourt.

McMakin's shot gave Longwood its first win in Buies Creek in team history. The play was third in the SportsCenter Top 10 that same night, and McMakin was named the Big South Player of the Week the following day.

The Lancers are at home against Winthrop this weekend for a two-game series that will mark the halfway point of conference play. Game one will be Friday night at 6 p.m. with game two taking place at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
