  • As a sophomore, Schnell hit .373 (4-11) over the final 22 games of 2019. In that stretch, the left-handed slugger hit both of his home runs, including a late two-run blast that put Longwood up 7-6 at High Point on 4/15 before High Point rallied to walk off the Lancers.
  • Schnell broke out with a huge performance against Charleston Southern on April 6. The sophomore went 4-5 at the plate for the day. Scouting NC State
  • Longwood and NC State will meet for the first time since a three-game series in 2015. In that series, NC State swept Longwood 3-2, 6-1, 6-3. NC State also won the first ever matchup between the two teams 18-4 in 2006.
  • In 2019, NC State climbed as high as number one in the rankings in the middle of the season. The Wolfpack lost in the ACC Championship semifinal to Georgia Tech before entering the NCAA regional as the second seed at the Greenville regional. Campbell and East Carolina knocked NC State out of the regional.
  • NC State opened 2020 with a three-game sweep of James Madison on opening weekend. The Wolfpack won 4-0, 9-6 and 11-2 to sweep the Dukes.
