The Opening Tip
•   Longwood begins Big South play this Monday and Tuesday with back-to-back road games against Commonwealth rival Radford.Â
•   The two-day doubleheader is the first of Longwood's 10 two-game Big South series. The unorthodox double-round-robin conference schedule will pit the Lancers against every Big South team with games being played against each opponent on consecutive days at the same venues.
•   The Dec. 14 tipoff marks Longwood's earliest Big South Conference opener since facing High Point on Dec. 2, 2015.
•   Radford is the only Big South team that Longwood head coach
Griff Aldrich has not defeated since taking over the Lancer program in 2018-19.Â
•   Longwood has held three of its first four opponents to fewer than 70 points and ranks tied for second in the Big South in scoring defense.
Last Time Out
•   Sparked by a near triple-double from freshman point guard
Justin Hill, Longwood showcased a versatile offense and cruised past North Carolina A&T 77-60 Tuesday evening in Willett Hall.
•   In only his fourth career game, Hill finished with nine points, 11 assists and eight rebounds to direct the Longwood offense to a season-high 30 made field goals and 11 three-pointers.
•   Behind Hill's 11-assist night, fellow point guard
Juan Munoz scored 13 points, forward
Christian Wilson added 15, and redshirt freshman forward
Nate Lliteras scored 13 in his first career double-digit scoring game.Â
•   The Lancers shot a season-best .526 (30-of-57) from the floor, tied for their fourth-best shooting performance in three years under head coach
Griff Aldrich and their best since a .577 night in a win over UMES on Nov. 12, 2019.
By The Numbers
•   Longwood is holding opponents to 70.5 points per game, tied for the second lowest clip in the Big South. Last season the Lancers ranked third in the conference with a 68.6 opponent scoring average.
•   Longwood has outrebounded three of its first four opponents, including a +9 advantage over ACC foe Wake Forest and a +14 margin in this past Tuesday's win over North Carolina A&T.
•   Freshman point guard
Justin Hill ranks second nationally among NCAA freshmen with 6.2 assists per game, trailing only Gonzaga's Jalen Suggs, who has 6.3.Â
•   Hill's 11 assists against North Carolina A&T are the most by any Big South player in a single game this season. That total ranks as the most by a Longwood freshman since Lucas Woodhouse dished 11 on Feb. 23, 2013.Â
•   Hill is also the Big South's No. 2 freshman scorer at 12.3 points per game behind only Presbyterian's Rayshon Harrison's 17.0.
•   Veteran point guard
Juan Munoz has hit a three-pointer in 22 consecutive games dating back to 2019-20. He has multiple treys in each of his first four games this season.
•   Munoz's career .380 three-point percentage is the second highest in Longwood's Division I era and tied for the seventh-best mark in the 45-year history of Longwood's program.Â
•   Of Longwood's 52 assists this season, 31 have led to three-pointers (59.6 percent). Hill leads the team with 15 of those helpers.Â
•   Junior forward
Christian Wilson has already scored in double figures three times in his first four games of 2020-21. He had six double-digit scoring games as a sophomore in 2019-20.Â
•   Redshirt freshman forward
Bennett Mohn has hit 6 of his first 10 three-point attempts to begin his collegiate career. All 10 of his field goal attempts have come from beyond the arc.
Quotable
"It started in shootaround – he was vocal, he was giving everybody energy, giving everybody confidence. Similar to the Wake game, it was very clear whose team this was and he just controlled it right from the tip. I'm just extremely proud of Juan."

Juan Munoz during the win over North Carolina A&T
