The Opening Tip
•   After squeezing in three games in a five-day span, from Jan. 16-20, Longwood will take on High Point on five days rest this Saturday in High Point, N.C.
•   The Lancers swept the regular-season matchups against the Panthers in 2018-19, which was the debut season at both institutions for head coaches
Griff Aldrich and Tubby Smith. Those two games were decided by a combined seven points with Longwood winning the opener 55-51 in Farmville and the rematch 62-59 in High Point.

•   UNC Asheville guard DeVon Baker delivered 19 points and rattled off four consecutive three-pointers late in the second half to lift the Bulldogs over a reenergized Longwood team 71-66 Monday evening at Willett Hall.
•   Baker scored 14 points after halftime to fend off a Lancer squad that had the game within one possession with under five minutes to play. He scored 12 straight points on his own in the game's final nine minutes, including a three-pointer with 4:00 to play that pushed Asheville's lead to five points.
•   Longwood battled back to trim the deficit to 69-66 on
Shabooty Phillips' three-pointer with one second to play, but Lavar Batts got loose for a buzzer-beating fastbreak dunk on the final possession to spoil Longwood's comeback effort.

DeShaun Wade poured in 12. Longwood hit 10 three-pointers, including three from Phillips.

•   Longwood has allowed only seven 20-point scorers in 20 games this season. Longwood went the first 11 games without allowing a 20-point scorer.
•   The Lancers rank third in the Big South in opponent scoring average at 70.5 points per game.
•   Longwood's defense has amassed 58 steals in Big South play, the second most behind only UNC Asheville's 59. Longwood has forced its first seven Big South foes into 102 turnovers, which ranks fourth in the conference.

Leslie Nkereuwem has more offensive rebounds (41) than defensive rebounds (27), joining High Point's Caden Sanchez as the only Big South players with more offensive boards than defensive (minimum 50 rebounds).
•   The Lancers compiled a team GPA of 3.13 during the fall 2019 semester, which ranks as the program's highest of the Division I era.

Series History
•   Longwood and High Point meet for the 35th time in series history Saturday in High Point, N.C., in the latest edition of a series High Point leads 23-11.
•   Longwood has won three straight in the series, the Lancers' longest winning streak over the Panthers since joining the Big South in 2012-13.
•   High Point holds an 11-4 advantage in the series since Longwood joined the Big South. Two of those games came in the Big South Championship tournament with the teams splitting both.
•   Longwood has won two straight games on High Point's home floor, 68-55 in the first round of the 2018 Big South Championship and 62-59 in their last trip on Feb. 13, 2019.
