Save the Date: Longwood Baseball to Host Two Summer Camps

FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood baseball's coaching staff will host a pair of baseball camps this summer for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade. The first camp will run from June 3-6, and the second camp is set for July 22-25. Both camps will be held at Buddy Bolding Stadium from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
 
Camp attendees will receive instruction from Longwood's coaching staff on all areas of the game. First, the staff will direct instructional segments on proper hitting and throwing mechanics as well as proper glove work and footwork, and the drills have contests built in to keep the campers locked in. Each day, the camp will end with a game between the campers.
 
The cost is $125 per camper. Check-in runs from 8:30 to 9 a.m. each day with instruction going from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pick-up runs from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Summer Baseball Camp Details
 
Who is the Camp for?
 
Any player grade K-8th that would like to learn hitting, fielding, and pitching fundamentals.
 
What should participants expect?
 
Campers will be instructed on proper hitting, fielding, and throwing mechanics. At the end of each day the camp will end with a game. To ensure the utmost safety, campers will be separated by age.
 
Dates, times and costs:
 
Check-in will run from 8:30 to 9 a.m. for both camps and will take place at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium. The cost of the camp is $125 for each camper. Baseball activities will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Camper pick-up will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
 
Meals:
 
No meals will be provided for the camp. Participants should eat breakfast prior to arrival and bring a snack and drink for a short break.
 
What to wear:
 
Baseball pants, plastic spikes, tennis shoes, bat, glove, and a helmet. Metal spikes are prohibited. The Longwood staff will have a trainer on site for any emergencies.
