The Opening Tip
•   In its final game before the 2019 Big South Championship, Longwood will conclude its breakout 2018-19 season with a regular-season finale at Gardner-Webb Saturday at 3 p.m.
•   In their first year under head coach
Griff Aldrich, Longwood has won the second most games in the Division I era and the most since joining the Big South seven years ago.Â
•   Among Longwood 15 wins are five Big South victories that tie for the most conference wins since the Lancers joined the Big South in 2012-13.
•   One of Longwood's three overtime games this season came against Gardner-Webb, which the Runnin' Bulldogs won 89-88. Two of Longwood's six games in February went to overtime.
•   Longwood has already set the school single-season records for most made three-pointers and most attempted three pointers. The Lancers are just 291 treys shy of reaching 300 for the season.
Last Time Out
•   Campbell needed 41 points from Chris Clemons to survive an end-game surge from Longwood junior
Shabooty Phillips, who went toe-to-toe with the NCAA's leading scorer and nearly pulled Longwood back from a double-digit deficit before Clemons pushed the Fighting Camels over the top for a 74-72 barnburner in Willett Hall.
•   Clemons had Campbell on pace for a double-digit win, but Phillips met him on the big stage and engaged in a five-minute duel that saw the two point guards combine for 24 of the game's final 31 points.
•   Phillips scored 14 of those points in succession for Longwood to pull the Lancers out of a nine-point hole and give his team the final shot at the end of the two-point game.
•   Longwood intercepted an in-bounds pass at the buzzer, but Clemons blocked Phillips' desperation jumpshot to end the game.
By The Numbers
•   Longwood's last win in the final game of the regular season came against Radford on Feb. 27, 2016. Longwood overcame a 20-point second-half deficit in the game's final 14 minutes that game to stun the Highlanders 91-82.Â
•   Longwood has won the second-most games in the program's 15-year Division I era under first-year head coach
Griff Aldrich, trailing only the 17 wins by the 2008-09 team. The 15 wins are Longwood's most since joining the Big South in 2012-13.
•   Of Longwood's 15 wins, 12 have come against Division I foes, which is the most D-I victories in program history.
•   The Lancers are 2-3 in Big South rematches this year, defeating High Point and USC Upstate in the second meetings of the season.
•  Â
Shabooty Phillips is the Big South's leading free throw shooter at 88.7 percent (94-of-106), which would rank as the fourth-highest single-season mark in school history.
•   Longwood is 6-0 when junior guard Seán Flood scores in double figures.Â
•  Â
Jaylon Wilson has enjoyed his best seven-game stretch of the season of late, scoring in double figures in five of those games while averaging 13.9 points per game.Â
•   Longwood has broken school records for both made three-pointers and attempted three-pointers this season. The Lancers are just eight treys shy of becoming the first Longwood team to hit 300 three-pointers in a season.
•   Longwood has held eight of its past 16 opponents under 30.0 percent shooting from three-point range. Thirteen of Longwood's 30 foes have shot under 30.0 percent from long range.
•   Longwood is currently ranked 287 in the NCAA NET rankings, the program's highest NCAA ranking in 15 years as a Division I program.
Quotable
"He's really taken a step forward as a player. The exciting thing for him is he has a lot of potential and upside. He's really only starting to scratch the surface of the player he could really be."
