• Longwood jumped out to a hot start early against the University of Florida, leading 19-11 after the first quarter.Â
Dayna Rouse ignited the Lancer offense scoring nine points on 4-8 shooting in the quarter.Â
• The Gators overcame the deficit scoring 59 points in the final three quarters, 24 coming in the second quarter. Lavender Briggs finished with a double-double for the Gators, scoring a team-high 16 points and 10 reboundsÂ

Akila Smith, a Florida native, finished with ten points, four rebounds, tied a career-high in blocks with three, and one assist on her homecoming performanceÂ

• The Lancers are in their 13th season in the division I era and eighth season as a full member of the Big South Conference.Â
• Longwood enters its second season under the direction head coach
Rebecca Tillett. She came to Longwood after spending the four seasons at the United States Naval Academy, helping the Midshipmen to back-to-back 20-win seasons.
• Longwood, through two games, has two Lancers averaging double-digit point totals.Â
Dayna Rouse leads
 the offensive charge with 12.0 points per game, andÂ
Kyla McMakin is not far behind, averaging 11.5 points per game.Â

Allysah 'Cookie' Boothe bring a long-range threat to the Lancers offense. Smith boasts a clip of .600 from behind the three-point line, and Boothe leads the unit with four makes on the year. The duo has combined for  77% of Longwood's made three-point shots.Â
• Longwood returns six letter winners from the 2018-2019 team, headlined by All-Big South forwardÂ
Dayna Rouse. Rouse finished last season averaging 14.4 points and 5.7 rebounds while finishing 23rd in the nation and among the best in the Big South with a .565 field goal percentage.        Â
• Longwood returns three starters off last season's team and five of its top seven scorers. In addition to returningÂ
Milou Vennema, who started five games and appeared in eighteen games for the Lancers,Â
Jada Russell returns with eight games of experience for Longwood.
• Longwood welcomes the additions of seven newcomers to the program in Tillett's first full recruiting class. The quartet ofÂ
Anne-Hamilton LeRoy, Kyla McMakin, Tayonna Robertson, andÂ
Adriana Shipp. A trio of juniors makes up the remaining of the recruiting class, includingÂ

• The Lancers seek their first victory against the Seahawks in what will be the fourth meeting between the two programs.  Â
