•   The loss put an end to the best home start by a Longwood team since the 1993-94 Lancers went a perfect 13-0.
•   The Bucs' two 20-point scorers sparked an overwhelming offensive effort that saw Charleston Southern put up triple digits against a Longwood team that entered the game as the Big South's leader in both opponent scoring and opponent field goal percentage.
•   Six Bucs scored in double figures, and Charleston Southern shot .516 (33-of-64) from the field and .452 (14-of-31) from three-point range.
•  Â
Isaiah Walton led Longwood with 21 points, including the 1,000th point of his career.
By The Numbers
•   Of the 18 new head Division I coaches who inherited teams that won single-digit games last year, only
Griff Aldrich and Pitt's Jeff Capel (12-5) have winning percentages above .500.
•   At 11-7, Longwood is off to its best 18-game start of the program's 15-year Division I era and the best since the 2000-01 Lancers opened the year 13-5.Â
•   Longwood is 5-1 in games following a loss this season and has outscored those five opponents by an average of 7.5 points per game.

Shabooty Phillips' four 20-point games this season, three have come in games following a loss. In his six games after a loss, Phillips averages a team-high 16.7 points per game and 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.Â

Only two players — Colin Ducharme (2000-01) and Maurice Sumter (2003-07) — have hit that benchmark since the turn of the century, while NBA veteran Jerome Kersey (1980-84) ranks first all-time with 142 career rejections.
Quotable
"This was probably the first game that I felt like we got out-toughed. It was the first game I felt like we didn't have competitive fire. I wasn't sure what I was looking at — we got down by about eight, and it was like the balloon got deflated. I'm sitting there thinking, that's not our team."
— Head coach
Griff Aldrich following Longwood's 101-91 loss to Charleston Southern Saturday
