•   Longwood currently occupies the seventh spot in the Big South standings but is just two games behind four teams tied for third place.
•   Longwood is in the midst of its best defensive stretch of the season, holding the past four opponents to just 64.5 points per game. Longwood allowed 77.5 points per game in 17 games prior.
•   The Lancers have won five of their past eight home games in Willett Hall.
•   Wednesday's game will be Longwood faculty and staff appreciation night in Willett Hall. All Longwood faculty and staff, and their immediate families, will receive free admission.
Last Time Out
•   High Point deployed its top-three Big South defense and rode 22 points from Jahaad Proctor to take down Longwood 75-55 Sunday afternoon at Willett Hall.
•   Behind a defense that entered the game leading the Big South and ranked among the top 15 in the nation in steals per game, High Point held Longwood to .370 percent shooting from the floor and .240 from three-point range.
•   Proctor led that charge with a game-high 22 points, sparking a charge from High Point's backcourt that saw guards Brandon Kamga and Andre Fox also turn in double-digit scoring efforts with 16 and 11 points each.
•  Â
Damarion Geter turned in his first career double-double, scoring 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field and grabbing 10 rebounds.

By The Numbers
•   Longwood and Winthrop are the most veteran-laden teams in the Big South. Winthrop has a combined 11 juniors and seniors on the roster, while Longwood has 10. Eight of Longwood's 10 upperclassmen are juniors with two years of eligibility remaining.
•   Longwood is holding opponents to a .306 (170-of-556) three-point shooting percentage, the lowest in the Big South and the 18th lowest in the nation.
•   Longwood has three players in their fifth year of college basketball in starting guards
B.K. Ashe and
Charles Glover and starting forward
Damarion Geter. Geter is in his fourth season as team captain after originally being elected to the post by his teammates as a sophomore.
•  Â
Damarion Geter is the only player in the Big South ranked among the top six in both rebounds (6.8) and blocks (1.2) per game. Geter is averaging career highs in both categories, as well as points per game (7.1).
•   Geter has scored in double figures in back-to-back games for the first time in his career, pouring in 12 points against Radford and High Point. Geter entered the season without a double-digit scoring game but has scored 10-plus points in six games this season.
•  Â
B.K. Ashe has 21 assists and just nine turnovers over his past six games for a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. That improvement coincides with Ashe's reunion with the other two pieces of Longwood's "Big Three" in fellow guards
Charles Glover and
Isaiah Walton, who returned after both missed four straight games in December.
•   In 16 games with Glover in the lineup, Ashe has 52 assists and 47 turnovers (1.1 A:TO ratio). In four games without him, Ashe has nine assists and 19 turnovers (0.5 A:TO).
•   Longwood is 3-0 when Ashe, Glover and Walton all score in double figures.
Series History
•   Longwood and Winthrop square off for the 12th time in series history and first time this season Wednesday night in Willett Hall.
•   Longwood is 1-8 against Winthrop since joining the Big South in 2012-13. The Lancers' lone win came on Feb. 9, 2013, when Longwood topped Winthrop head coach Pat Kelsey's first Eagles team 62-56 in Rock Hill, S.C.
•   Fourth-year team captain
Damarion Geter has the most experience against Winthrop, playing in four games in his previous four seasons at Longwood. Geter has missed the past four meetings after suffering back-to-back season-ending injuries.
