The Opening Tip
•    Longwood hosts Presbyterian Wednesday for the Big South home opener in Willett Hall. The game is Longwood's first at home since Dec. 16, ending a three-game road stretch.
•    The Lancers' last matchup against Presbyterian in Farmville saw Longwood overcome an 11-point second-half deficit — thanks to a 20-point half from Isaiah Walton — en route to a 79-76 victory.
•    Longwood is 2-3 in Big South home openers since joining the conference in 2012-13. The Lancers defeated Campbell 79-77 in last year's Big South home opener.
•    Longwood has been without at least two key players in nine of the past 11 games. Leading scorer Isaiah Walton has missed four straight games, and starting guard Charles Glover missed four straight games before returning against Charleston Southern on Dec. 30.

Last Time Out
•    Charleston Southern's vaunted backcourt duo of Phlandrous Fleming Jr. and Christian Keeling combined for 37 points to lift the Buccaneers past Longwood 84-43 in the Big South opener Saturday evening in the Buc Dome.
•    Fleming and Keeling both flirted with 20-point nights, as Keeling poured in a game-high 19 points and Fleming added 18 of his own.
•    Those two spearheaded a Buccaneer offense that engineered nearly 20 more field goal attempts than Longwood, knocked down 11 three-pointers, and assisted on 16 of their 30 made field goals.
•    The Bucs did enough to spoil a career night from Longwood sophomore JaShaun Smith, who matched his career high with 15 points. Smith finished 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range.

By The Numbers
•    Freshman guard Kamil Chapman is the Big South's third-leading freshman scorer, averaging 7.6 points per game. Chapman has played in all 14 games, drawing five starts, and leads Longwood in made three-pointers (21).
•    Isaiah Walton is Longwood's leading scorer in Willett Hall this season, averaging 21.5 points per game on his home court. In seven home games this season, Walton alone has accounted for 25.4 percent of Longwood's total scoring, despite missing one of those games with an injury.
•    Longwood averages a team-high 1.82 points per minute when Isaiah Walton is on the floor and just 1.37 points per minute with him off the court. Walton averages a team-high 17.2 points per game but has missed four straight games with an injury.
•    Hampered by injuries all season, Longwood has deployed seven different starting lineups in 14 games. The Lancers have been without at least two key players in nine of the past 11 games.
•    Longwood's only four players to have played in all 14 games this season are B.K. Ashe, Kamil Chapman, Chris Shields and JaShaun Smith.
•    Guard B.K. Ashe is averaging 5.1 rebounds per game, the third-highest rebounding average of all Big South guards. Ashe has hauled in at least five rebounds in seven straight games and has three games this season with at least eight boards.
•    Longwood has the Big South's top three-point defense, holding opponents to a .306 (122-of-399) shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Only Columbia (.410), Saint Francis (.346), Grand Canyon (.382) and Charleston Southern (.367) have shot better than .333 from long range against Longwood this season.
•    Longwood allows just 1.76 points per minute when Spencer Franklin is on the floor, the lowest clip on the team. Franklin also leads Longwood in plus-minus rating.
