The Opening Tip
•   Fresh off back-to-back wins, Longwood concludes a three-game homestand in Willett Hall Saturday, hosting Fayetteville State at 3 p.m.

•   Isaiah Walton posted his fourth 20-point game of the season, going off for 29 points to lead Longwood to its second straight win, 84-59 over Bluefield State Wednesday evening at Willett Hall.
•   Walton connected on 10-of-15 shots from the field and 5-of-8 from three-point range to lead five Lancers who scored in double figures.Â
•   JaShaun Smith added 14 points, and the backcourt trio of B.K. Ashe, Kamil Chapman and Charles Glover scored 10 points apiece.
 •   For the second straight game, Longwood shot better than 44 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three-point range, knocking down 12 treys, including seven in the second half.
•   Bluefield State got 22 points from point guard Korey Williams and 10 from forward Greg Purnell but committed 23 turnovers.

•   Redshirt junior Isaiah Walton leads the Big South with 20.3 points per game and is the league's only player averaging at least 20.0 points per game.
•   Walton has scored at least 20 points in four of his six games this season, including back-to-back 20-point outings entering Saturday's game.
•   Walton is averaging 23.8 points per game on his home court. In those five games, he is shooting .519 (41-of-79) from the floor and .500 (16-of-32) from three-point range while topping the 20-point plateau four times. His lowest-scoring home game was a 15-point outing against Saint Francis.
•   Longwood and Campbell are the only teams in the Big South to have multiple players post 30-point games. Walton scored 32 points against Columbia on Nov. 14, and Ashe went off for 31 against N.C. Wesleyan on Nov. 26.Â
•   Longwood has surrendered 35 turnovers in the past three games (11.7 tog.), compared to 78 in the first four games (19.5 tog.).
•   Longwood's backcourt trio of B.K. Ashe, Charles Glover and Isaiah Walton combines to average 44.1 points per game. They are the third-highest scoring guard trio in the Big South, trailing only Campbell's Chris Clemons, Marcus Burk and Cory Gensler (51.6 ppg.), and High Point's Andre Fox, Jahaad Proctor and Brandonn Kamga (50.6 ppg).
•   Glover is 10-of-16 (.625) from three-point range over the past three games. He was a perfect 6-of-6 against N.C. Wesleyan and knocked down a pair of treys against both Delaware and Bluefield State.
•   Ashe has scored in double digits in four straight games after doing so just once in his first three games. He averages 19.5 points per game during that span compared to 8.3 in his first three games.
•   True freshman guard Kamil Chapman has hit at least one three-pointer in five straight games. He is shooting .391 (9-of-23) from long range and averaging 8.0 points per game during that stretch.
