FARMVILLE, Va. – Presbyterian sophomore Allie Wagner secured her first career double-double with 14 points to go along with 12 rebounds, as the visiting Blue Hose posted a 59-38 win over Longwood Saturday afternoon inside Willett Hall.
The win for the Blue Hose marks their first victory over a Division I opponent this season, as the squad improves to 3-5 on the season and 1-1 inside the Big South. Meanwhile, Longwood (1-6, 0-2 BSC) drops its third consecutive game and its first inside Willett Hall this season. This season marks the third straight season that Longwood has opened 0-2 in the Big South after opening 4-0 in 2012-13, its inaugural season in the Big South.
Wagner finished the game 6-of-10 from the floor to post a career-best 14 points, while grabbing 12 rebounds to go along with one steal in 29 minutes. In addition, Wagner's teammate Taylor Petty tallied 14 points of her own. Petty, who came into the game as PC's leading scorer with 11.1 points per game, caught fire in the second quarter and finished the period with nine of her 14 points.
In addition to Petty and Wagner, the Blue Hose received 10 points from sophomore guard Cortney Storey, who added five rebounds, five assists and a steal.
The Blue Hose stringent defense limited Longwood to its second lowest point total of the season, including its lowest this season inside Willett Hall of just 38 points. Presbyterian forced the Lancers into 21 turnovers to match the most by Longwood this season. Meanwhile, the Blue Hose limited the Lancers to just four field goals in the second half (4-for-22; .182) and 1-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Raven Williams scored a season-best 12 points for the Lancers, including five points in the first quarter. The senior also added seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 29 minutes of play. The Richmond product tallied five of her points in the game's opening 3:36, helping Longwood to an early first quarter advantage.
The performance from Williams marked her first game of the season in double figures, after being limited to five points or less in five or Longwood's previous six games. After a breakout junior season in 2014-15 where she averaged 13.3 points per game to go along with an average of 3.1 assists per game, Williams entered the season as the Big South's lone returning player to rank among the top-10 in conference play in points (14.3 PPG), assists (2.2 APG), steals (1.5 SPG) and minutes played (34.7 MPG).
Longwood will have a week off for final exams, before playing returning to the court to host N.C. Wesleyan. The opening tip is set for 2 p.m. inside Willett Hall.
