GAME VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS / POST-GAME PRESS CONFERENCE
FARMVILLE, Va. -- Sophomore captain
Lucas Woodhouse/Greenlawn, New York made the game-winning three-point field goal with 2.9-seconds remaining, and scored a career-high and game-high 27 points, to lead Longwood University to a thrilling 69-66 come-from-behind Big South Conference men's basketball victory past visiting North Division archival Liberty University on Wednesday night at Willett Hall in Farmville. The decisive three-pointer by Woodhouse, his seventh of the game for a new career-high, as well, helped the Lancers (6-14, 1-4 Big South) halt a seven-game losing streak and earn their first Division I win since November 12 (at TCU, 82-79, on a Woodhouse three-pointer with 1.7-seconds left). Tomasz Gielo had 20 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the Flames (8-12, 2-3 Big South), as Liberty remains winless against the Lancers at Willett Hall (0-13). Longwood will play on the road at South Division opponent Charleston Southern University on Saturday, January 25 at 5:30 p.m. in Charleston, South Carolina.

"I thought it was a great win," said first-year Longwood head coach
Jayson Gee. "I'm very proud of our basketball team and I'm proud to be at Longwood. Any time you can sustain the adversity that this team has gone through … to their credit, day-in and day-out, they practice like an undefeated team. I thought we got a big assist tonight from the (Lancer) Lunatics. They were phenomenal during a crucial period of the game."
  Â
The closely-played contest featured 13 lead-changes and 11 ties throughout, including six of each during the first half. Longwood took its largest lead of the period at 15-11 with 14:30 on the clock following a jumper by redshirt-junior captain
Jeylani Dublin/Brooklyn, New York, off the bench. Woodhouse (7) and sophomore
Karl Ziegler/Annandale (6) combined for 13 quick points during the opening 5:30. Liberty used a 15-4 run to take its largest lead of the half at 26-19 with 7:31 left until halftime, getting points from five different players, including four points each from Gielo and Antwan Burrus, off the bench. The Lancers battled back with a 13-5 run to lead 32-31 at 1:52 after a layup from freshman
Darrion Allen/Pompano Beach, Florida, off the bench, while Woodhouse started the spurt with a three-pointer and Allen scored seven of the points. The Flames, though, scored the last five points of the half to lead 36-32 at the intermission, including a late three-pointer by Gielo.

Leron Fisher/Baltimore, Maryland with 10:56 remaining. The Flames made a little push and led 63-58 at 5:25 after a jumper from Burrus, who scored five quick points. It was the last field goal made in the game by the visitors. The Lancers fought back once-again and tied it at 63-63 on another three-pointer by Woodhouse at 2:44, and following a Gielo free throw at 2:20, Woodhouse made a step-back three-pointer with 44.6-seconds left for a 66-64 lead. Burrus made two free throws at :30 to tie it at 66-66, before Woodhouse made his game-winning three-pointer with 2.9-seconds on the clock. Gielo was off the mark with a three-point attempt from right of the circle just ahead of the final horn, much to the delight a raucous home crowd of 1,619.
