FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's basketball team will open its Big South Conference home schedule with two league games in three days at Willett Hall. The Lancers will first welcome Coastal Carolina University on Saturday, December 28 in a 2 p.m. tilt before squaring off against Campbell University on Monday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. Both games will be video streamed live from Willett Hall via the Big South Network.
Looking At Longwood
Longwood is currently 3-7 overall this season, including 0-1 in Big South Conference action. The Lancers fell, 71-47, against Bucknell on Dec. 21 in their final non-conference game of the year. Redshirt-senior

Khalilah Ali/Suffolk leads the Lancers on the boards with 7.0 rebounds per game, while Brown follows with 6.3. As a team, Longwood is shooting 36.5% (205-561) from the floor, including 26.3% (57-217) from beyond the arc, and 70.1% (103-147) from the foul line.
Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers are 5-5 so far in 2013-14 and 1-0 in Big South play after dropping their two most recent decisions. CCU fell, 80-62 against the College of Charleston on Dec. 18 in the CresCom Bank Carolinas Challenge. Coastal, under the direction of first-year head coach Jaida WIlliams, is led by AJ Jordan with 18.2 points per game. Angelica Henry and Alexx Puckett add to the offense with 12.5 and 11.9 points, respectively. As a whole, the Chants are shooting 41.0% (280-683) from the field, including 34.8% (47-135) from three-point territory, and 70.8% (138-195) from the foul line.
Scouting Campbell
The Fighting Camels own a 7-3 overall record in 2013-14, including a 2-0 mark in Big South games. CU ended a four-game win streak when it faced a 56-49 setback in its most recent decision at Elon on Dec. 20. The squad will travel to Liberty on Dec. 28 prior to visiting Longwood on Dec. 30. Campbell, under the direction of Wanda Watkins in her 32nd year, is led by Kiera Gaines with 11.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Roslyn Presley adds 11.0 points, while Jessica Moore averages 8.9. CU is currently shooting 40.7 (233-573) from the floor, 36.3% (62-171) on three-point opportunities and 64.2% (131-204) from the foul line.
Series History
Saturday's contest will mark the fifth meeting between Longwood and Coastal in the sport of women's basketball, while Monday's match will be the 11th time that the Lancers have faced off against Campbell. Longwood leads the all-time series against the Chanticleers, 3-1, despite falling, 66-62, when the teams last met in Conway, S.C. on January 31, 2013. The Fighting Camels hold a 6-4 edge all-time against the Lancers, including a 62-51 win in their most recent meeting on February 2, 2013.
