Series History
Longwood and Virginia Intermont are meeting for the fifth time in the sport of men's basketball since 2007. The Lancers lead the series, 4-0, including a most recent 91-73 win in Farmville two seasons ago on November 13, 2011. Longwood is 27-0 against non-Division I opponents at home since first playing a Division I schedule in 2004-05, including 3-0 against such opponents this season.

Longwood is 4-7 overall, 0-0 in the Big South Conference after a 99-73 home win past NCAA Division II member Bluefield State College this past Saturday.Â
Tristan Carey (19.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 32 3FGs) led the Lancers against the Big Blues with with his team-high 22 points (9-18 FGs, 2-3 3FGs, 2-2 FTs), adding a game-high 14 rebounds for his seventh career double-double, along with a game-high three steals. Carey now totals 1,129 career points to rank 15th all-time, and ranks fourth with 168 career three-pointers. Sophomore
Karl Ziegler (13.7 points, 6.5 rebounds) had 21 points (8-8 FGs, 1-1 3FGs, 4-6 FTs), seven rebounds and matched his career high with five assists, redshirt-junior captain
Jeylani Dublin (12.0 points, 4.9 rebounds) added 17 points (7-9 FGs, 3-5 FTs) and sophomore captain
Lucas Woodhouse (10.5 points, 7.0 assists) finished with his fifth career double-double, contributing 13 points and a game-high 11 assists. Longwood shot a season-high 61% (35-57) from the field, including 70% (21-30) in the second half, 55% (6-11) on three-pointers and 74% (23-31) at the free throw line. The Lancers outscored Bluefield State 52-18 in the paint, and 20-0 in points off turnovers. Senior

Looking At Virginia Intermont
Virginia Intermont is 3-9 overall, 1-4 in the AAC after an 84-76 non-conference road loss at Division III member Bridgewater College this past Saturday in Bridgewater. Chris Tolliver is in his second year as head coach of the Cobras. At Bridgewater, Virginia Intermont was led by 6-6 senior Joshua Hart (32 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals), 6-2 sophomore JD Tucker (13 points), 6-5 junior Kris Harris (10 points, 11 rebounds) and 5-8 freshman Ben Sealey (10 points). The other starter was 6-4 senior Calvin Anderson. The Cobras shot 48% (28-58) from the field, including 25% (3-12) on three-pointers and 68% (17-25) at the line.
No Place Like Home
Longwood has attained a home record of 53-30 in Willett Hall over the last six-plus years since receiving its NCAA Division I certification and eligibility for 2007-08. The Lancers are 67-40 at home over the past eight-plus years, not including the first year playing a Division I schedule in 2004-05 (1-10). The program finished an uncharacteristic 4-9 at home during 2012-13, but was 7-5 during 2011-12, 10-4 during 2010-11, 9-3 during 2009-10, 13-2 during 2008-09, 7-5 during 2007-08, 6-6 during 2006-07 and 8-4 during 2005-06. Overall, Longwood has compiled a record of 271-152 on its home court over 33-plus years since playing its first intercollegiate contest in the building on November 22, 1980 against the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, a 62-54 victory by the Lancers.
