It was the second meeting between the two schools in the sport, and Seattle now leads the series at 2-0, including a 100-99 overtime win in Farmville on February 11. Ironically, both games against the Redhawks this season were witnessed by former Longwood All-America and 17-year NBA veteran Jerome Kersey '84. Kersey was in Virginia earlier this month for the annual Longwood Basketball Reunion Day (2.11), and traveled to Seattle from his residence in Oregon to support the program tonight (2.29). Jerome finished his career with the Lancers totaling 1,756 points (3rd) and a school-record 1,162 rebounds.
Longwood could return as many as seven letterwinners for 2012-13, while a similar number of new additions to the team are expected as well.
