ECAC Results
BRONX, N.Y. -- Longwood University posted 485 points to finish 18th among 22 teams Saturday at the 27th ECAC Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. The University of Albany took first place in the University Division race with 109 points, and Albany runner Kathryn Fanning was the individual winner with her time of 18:06. Junior
Alisha Royal|Vinton (William Byrd) led the Lancers with her time of 18:36 over the 5000-meter course to finish seventh among 215 runners while earning ECAC All-East honors -- the school's first female runner to ever earn this distinction. Longwood completed its 2011 campaign with the competition in New York City.
Longwood was led by Royal who ran the fourth-fastest 5K time in school history as she now owns four of the five fastest times for the distance. She was followed by freshman

Longwood improved upon its 23rd (of 23) place finish of a year ago at this championship event.
