LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Longwood University posted 967 points to finish 34th among 35 teams Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at the E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Alisha Royal|Vinton (William Byrd) led the Lancers with her new school-record and personal-best time of 22:21 over the 6000-meter course. It's the second school-record that she has established this fall along with her 5K time of 18:22. Longwood will compete in the ECAC Championships hosted by the Eastern College Athletic Conference on Saturday, November 19, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York beginning at 11 a.m.
Longwood was led by Royal who placed 100th among 246 runners with her record time that bettered the previous record of 22:40 set by Kristin Novara in 2006. She was followed by senior
