COMPLETE RESULTS
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Longwood University women's cross country posted 89 points to finish fourth among five teams Saturday morning at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by the College of William and Mary at the Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg. The host Tribe took first place with 27 points, while the Lancers were led by junior
Jessica Alley|New Castle (Craig County) with her time of 15:29 over the 4000 meter course for 18th-place individually in the field of 48. Longwood will compete again on October 1 at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, North Carolina.
Following Alley for Longwood were sophomores
Megan Short|Erial, N.J. (Timber Creek) (16:20, 28th) and
Jenna Sprinkle|Buchanan (James River) (16:51, 32nd), along with freshmen
Ciara Mading|King George (King George) (17:02, 34th) and Nicole Cunningham-Grandy|Midlothian (James River) (18:46, 45th). Also running was freshman
Emberli McGann|Stuarts Draft (Stuarts Draft) (20:07, 47th).
Following William and Mary in the team results were Hampton (49), Norfolk State (85), LU, and Howard (94).
