Longwood has won three consecutive games at home this season where the team is averaging 103.3 points. Matt Rushing led the visiting Cavaliers (2-3) with 12 points. Longwood returns to action this Saturday afternoon, Nov. 27, on the road at Campbell University of the Atlantic Sun Conference in Buies Creek, North Carolina with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m.

Mitchell finished with his career-high and game-high 25 points in 24 minutes to lead Longwood. Parker finished with his career-high 17 points off the bench, including 5-6 three-pointers, in 16 minutes for the Lancers. Carter added his third-straight double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds, Neil had 11 points and five assists, and Bowman finished with nine points and five assists with no turnovers for the hosts. LU shot 53.2% (41-77) from the field, including 43.3% (13-30) on three-pointers, and 76.2% (16-21) at the free throw line.
Rushing finished with his 12 points to lead Montreat, and Dustin Harris had 11 points off the bench for the Cavaliers. MC shot 35.7% (25-70) from the field, including 17.6% (3-17) on three-pointers, and 56.3% (9-16) at the line.
Longwood and Montreat were playing for the first-time in the sport of men's basketball. The Cavaliers had previously dropped Division I games this season at East Carolina (85-58), Appalachian State (101-71), and Charleston Southern (103-85).
