Longwood jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first five minutes on a Coward three pointer and four points from Jovanovic and junior
Brittany Jones | Richmond (North Florida). The lead swelled to 17-8 before Campbell went on a 5-0 run to trim the lead to four at 17-13 with 12:33 remaining in the half. The Lancers pushed the lead to as many as 17 at 39-22 with 20 seconds remaining in the first half and carried a 39-24 advantage in to halftime. Longwood turned 14 Campbell turnovers in to 16 points in the first half.
In the second period, Campbell cut the lead to 13 at 41-28 with 15:30 left in the game, but the Lancers went on a 9-2 run over over the next 2:45 to lead 50-30. Freshman

Longwood shot 35.6% (21-59) from the floor, including 44.4% (8-18) from behind the arc, and 77.8% (21-27) from the foul line. Coward scored 12 points on 4-for-16 shooting and also grabbed four rebounds. Jovanovic scored 10 points with seven assists and went 6-for-8 from the foul line. Smith grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and added seven points. Longwood outrebounded Campbell 45-38 and scored 18 second-chance points.
Campbell shot 27.6% (8-29) from the floor, including 12.5% (1-8) from behind the arc, and 67.7% (21-31) from the foul line. Amanda O'Neill paced the Camels with nine points. Jazmine Cooper, Courtney Cannon and Ashley James each scored seven points. James also grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Kate Cloxton had five steals for the Camels, who finished with 16 as a team.
The Lancers improved to 3-4 all-time against Campbell in the sport of women's basketball, including wins in the last two contests in Willett Hall.
