CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University women's cross country posted 217 points to finish seventh among seven teams Friday at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia and ran at the Panorama Farms in Charlottesville. Texas Tech University took first place with 20 points, led by individual winner Rose Taniu (20:21), while the Lancers were led by junior Jessica Alley|New Castle (Craig County) with her time of 24:00 over the 6000 meter course for 44th-place individually in the field of 69. Longwood will not compete again until November 13 at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Following Alley, who ran a new collegiate-best time for the 6K, for Longwood were sophomore Megan Short|Erial, N.J. (Timber Creek) (24:46, 55th), freshman Ciara Mading|King George (King George) (24:50, 56th), along with sophomores Jenna Sprinkle|Buchanan (James River) (26:07, 66th) and Alisha Royal|Vinton (William Byrd) (27:10, 68th). Also running was freshman Nicole Cunningham-Grandy|Midlothian (James River) (28:34, 69th).

Following Texas Tech in the team results were host Virginia (55), Wake Forest (66), East Carolina (108), UNC Charlotte (116), VCU (161), and LU.
