“We weathered an early storm tonight and created more chances as the match went on,” said Longwood head coach
Jon Atkinson. “For us to play 110 minutes in this heat down here was really something. We fell into a good rhythm as the game went on. This young team really matured a lot tonight.”

Elon out-shot Longwood 19-10, including 9-4 in the first half. The Phoenix held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
