COMPLETE RESULTS
BOONE, N.C. -- Longwood University women's cross country scored 93 points to finish fifth among nine teams in the Open Division Friday afternoon at the Blue Ridge Open run at the Don Kennedy Trail at State Farm in Boone, North Carolina. UNC Wilmington took first place with its 62 points in the 5K race, while Lynchburg College's Jennie Pernisi won the Open race with her time of 19:20. The Lancers were led by senior
Jacquelyne Chantry/Williamsburg (Lafayette) with her time of 20:05 to place sixth among the 79 runners. Longwood will not compete again until November 14 at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, Kentucky beginning at 1:15 p.m..

Laura Bland/Las Vegas, Nev. (Palo Verde) (20:11, 10th), freshman
Megan Short/Erial, N.J. (Timber Creek) (20:40, 22nd), sophomore
Jessica Alley/New Castle (Craig County) (20:53, 30th), along with junior
Lauren Kuhns/Fredericksburg (Riverbend) (22:15, 54th). Also running was freshman
Jenna Sprinkle/Buchanan (James River) (22:27, 55th).
Duke University won the 15-team Gold Division with its 18 points, easily outdistancing runners-up Virginia Tech (104), while Duke's Carly Seymour took first place in the 5K race with her time of 17:18 among the 133 runners.
