COMPLETE RESULTS
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Longwood University women's cross country totaled 227 points to finish ninth among nine teams Saturday at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by the College of William and Mary at the Eastern State Hospital/Dunbar Farms in Williamsburg. Michigan State University won the event with its 19 points, while the Spartans' Lisa Senakiewich won the individual 6K race with her time of 21:03. The Lancers will compete again on Saturday, October 4, at the George Mason Invitational in Manassas.
In Williamsburg, Longwood was led by junior
Jacquelyne Chantry/Williamsburg (Lafayette) with her time of 25:03 to place 47th among the 89 runners. Chantry was followed by classmate
Melinda Lackore/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) (25:44, 56th), freshman
Ashley Sanders/Chesapeake (Hickory) (26:53, 72nd), along with sophomores
Lauren Kuhns/Fredericksburg (Riverbend) (28:21, 81st) and
Paula Roberson/Richmond (Hermitage)?(28:55, 84th). Chantry, Lackore, Sanders, Kuhns, and Roberson each ran season-best times for the 6K distance.
