COMPLETE RESULTS
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Longwood University women's cross country totaled 313 points to finish 10th among 15 teams Saturday at the Salty Dog Invitational hosted by Navy in Maryland. The University of Richmond took team laurels with their 42 points, while Midshipmen Amy Watson placed first among 158 collegiate runners with her time of 22:26 in the 6K race at the U.S. Naval Academy. Longwood will compete again September 27 at the Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.
In Maryland, Longwood was competing in its first 6K (3.72 miles)?race of the season while led by junior
Jacquelyn Chantry/Williamsburg (Lafayette) with her time of 25:10 to finish 59th. Chantry was followed by classmates
Laura Bland/Las Vegas, Nev. (Palo Verde) (25:43, 70th) and
Melinda Lackore/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) (25:53, 73rd), along with sophomore
Natalie Auble/Fairfax (Fairfax) (26:36, 88th), and freshman
Ashley Sanders/Chesapeake (Hickory) (29:21, 137th). Sophomore
Paula Roberson/Richmond (Hermitage)?(30:14, 146th) also ran for the Lancers.
