COMPLETE RESULTS
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Longwood University women's cross country totaled 33 points to finish first among four teams Friday evening at the VMI?Season Opener in Lexington. The Lancers were led by sophomore
Mandy Ford/Powhatan (Powhatan) with her time of 16:45 to finish fourth among 26 collegiate runners in the 4K (2.5 mile) race at the Virginia Horse Center. Longwood will compete again September 13 at the Salty Dog Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
In Lexington, Ford was followed by juniors
Laura Bland/Las Vegas, Nev. (Palo Verde) (16:52, 5th) and
Melinda Lackore/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) (16:56, 6th), along with sophomores
Natalie Auble/Fairfax (Fairfax) (18:01, 8th) and
Lauren Kuhns/Fredericksburg (Riverbend) (19:09, 11th). Also running for the Lancers was sophomore
Paula Roberson/Richmond (Hermitage)?(19:43, 14th).
