COMPLETE RESULTS
BOONE, N.C. -- Longwood University women's cross country totaled 548 points to finish 20th among 26 teams Friday at the Blue Ridge Open hosted by Appalachian State University at the Kennedy Trails in Boone, North Carolina. Clemson University won the event with its 74 points, while unattached runner Zola Pieterse won the individual 5K race with her time of 17:58. The Lancers will not compete again until November 15 when they travel for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals to be hosted by Princeton University in New Jersey.
In North Carolina, Longwood was led by junior
Jacquelyne Chantry/Williamsburg (Lafayette) with her time of 19:30 to place 54th among the 194 runners. Chantry was followed by classmates
Laura Bland/Las Vegas, Nev. (Palo Verde) (20:20, 121st) and
Melinda Lackore/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) (20:25, 128th), sophomore
Natalie Auble/Fairfax (Fairfax) (21:10, 157th), and freshman
Jessica Alley/New Castle (Craig County) (21:27, 166th). Also running for the Lancers were sophomores
Lauren Kuhns/Fredericksburg (Riverbend) (21:50, 176th) and
Paula Roberson/Richmond (Hermitage)?(22:38, 185th). Each of the seven ran new season-best times for the 5K distance.
