FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University junior women’s tennis team member Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) is this week’s Longwood Female Athlete of the Week. Moomau was 2-1 in both singles and doubles at the Liberty Fall Classic hosted by fellow Big South Conference member Liberty University on September 14-15 in Lynchburg. She won her first round match over Allison Michael of Radford University (6-0, 6-1) and her semifinal against Gabby Gabriel of Appalachian State University (7-6 [5], 6-4), before falling in the final to Rebecca Jenkins of Liberty (4-6, 3-6). Moomau and sophomore teammate Malin Allgurin won their first round doubles match over a pair from Norfolk State University (8-1) and their second round match against two from Liberty (8-6), before falling in the final to partners from James Madison University (5-8).
