Longwood lacrosse junior Imani West earned this week's ARMS Software Lancer of the Week award after leading the Lancers to an 11-9 win over George Washington Saturday.
 
West, a native of Maplewood, N.J., anchored the Lancers in goal with a career-high 19 saves and a team-high eight ground balls. Her 19 saves bested her previous career high of 14 and stymied a Colonial attack that outshot Longwood 34-20.
 
West's lockdown performance in goal set the stage for Longwood sophomore Cassie Angeles to play hero in the game's final four minutes, scoring the game-tying goal with 3:58 to play and then putting the Lancers ahead for good with a game-winner with 2:16 on the clock.
