Kyri Washington was named the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week on Monday following an 8-for-16 week at the plate with nine RBI and another six runs scored.
Over Longwood's four-game week, Kyri Washington went 8-for-16 with nine RBI and hit a pair of home runs to earn both Big South Player of the Week and ARMS Software Player of the Week.
The two round-trippers gave Washington nine home runs on the season, setting a career-high for the junior who surpassed his 2014 total of seven long balls with a monstrous blast at No. 20 Virginia on Tuesday night. Washington went 2-for-2 in the midweeker adding a single and a walk to his two-run home run.
