Longwood University Athletics

Tristan Carey is our 2013-14 Longwood Male Athlete of the Year.  A 6-4 guard on the men's basketball team who won the honor for the second consecutive year, started 31 games and averaged a team-best 18.5 points and 6.6 rebounds, along with a school-record 94 three-point field goals.  He had team-bests of 28 double-figure scoring games, including three 30-point games among 14 20-point games, and led the team in scoring 20 times and in rebounding 16 times with five double-doubles.  Carey, who scored a season-high 37 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds this season, was named honorable mention All-Big South, and finished his career with 1,504 points (6th all-time) and 230 career three-pointers (2nd all-time).  Tristan majors in sociology, and is the son of Theresa Carey Fulcher and Joseph Fulcher, Jr.
