FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood University baseball senior standout Scott Burkett/Williamsburg has been named the Longwood Male ARMS Software Athlete of the Week. Burkett, a starting catcher/designated hitter, made two relief appearances and gained two wins last week. He pitched 1.1 shutout innings against Norfolk State for his first win this season, and only the second of his career, allowing one hit with one strikeout and no walks.  He followed with the final 3.0 shutout innings against Charleston Southern to earn his second win of the week (third of career), yielding just one hit with one strikeout and one walk. At the plate, Burkett hit .500 (8-16) last week in four games with a double, RBI and three runs.  On the season, Burkett is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three relief appearances with two strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
