Chernor Diallo Earns Atlantic Soccer All-Conference Honors

Chernor Diallo Finished The Season With Nine Points (4 G, 1 A)

FARMVILLE, Va.— Longwood University men’s soccer freshman forward Chernor Diallo/Alexandria (Mount Vernon) has been named to the 2006 Atlantic Soccer All-Conference Second Team.  Hartwick College senior Tyler Hemming was named the Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year was Howard University midfielder Joel Senior and Adelphi University head coach Bob Montgomery was named the ASC Coach of the Year.  
    
Diallo finished his rookie campaign with a strong performance in the 3-1 finale against Hartwick.  The speedy 5-7 forward set the tone for Longwood netted his fourth goal of the year just 0:35 into the match.  Diallo later assisted on the third goal to push the game out of reach of the Hawks.  On the season, Diallo’s nine points is the top mark on the Lancers.  Diallo also earned Player of the Week accolades after netting the game winning goal in overtime against Howard on October 21.
    
Longwood recorded a 6-8-4 overall record while posting a 2-2-2 mark in the ASC for a fifth place finish.
