- Gardner-Webb, which has won four-straight games entering Saturday, holds a slim 10-9-2 advantage in the all-time series with Longwood. Last season, the Runnin' Bulldogs tallied a 2-0 win in Boiling Sprints, N.C.
- Longwood and Gardner-Webb have played five common opponents this season, including three in nonconference play. In league play, both teams have faced High Point and UNC Asheville. They also both faced James Madison, ETSU, and Coastal Carolina during the nonconference slate.
- Junior Joshwa Campbell was called up to the Cayman Islands National Team ahead of the CONCACAF Nations League last week. Campbell started all four games for the Cayman Islands in Group A against Dominica, Guyana, and twice vs. Puerto Rico. After missing Longwood's games against USC Upstate and High Point, Campbell returned as a reserve in Tuesday's match at Virginia Tech.
- Junior Brando Bedolla is one of the top playmakers in the country. He leads the nation in total assists (9) and assists per game (1.00), while ranking fourth in points per game (2.11) and eighth in total points (19). He has four multiple assists games this season and scored a goal in each of Longwood's first four games. Bedolla converted a PK on Tuesday at Virginia Tech. He was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 31 after totaling a goal and three assists in a win over Coastal Carolina and the game-winner in the victory over Southern Virginia.

Levon Saribekyan were among seven forwards selected to the Big South Conference Midseason Watch List on Sept. 17. In total, 27 student-athletes were honored. Bedolla was also named to the preseason list.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 28. He collected three of his four saves in the opening half on the way to posting a shutout win over USC Upstate on Sept. 26. Pucci, who recorded a season-high eight saves at UNC Asheville in the Big South Opener on Sept. 19, ranks fourth in the league in saves per game (3.8).
- It was the fourth weekly award of the season for the Lancers. Sophomore Youssef Shafei (Aug. 24) and Bedolla (Aug. 31) earned Big South Offensive Player of the Week honors each of the first two weeks. Saribekyan was named the league's freshman of the week on Sept. 7 after tallying a hat trick at ETSU.
- The Lancers remain one of the top offenses in the country. Longwood ranks 18th nationally in total assists (26), 20th in total points (74), and 21st in total goals (24). The Lancers rank among the top three in the Big South in all three categories as well.
- Bedolla, Campbell, and Saribekyan lead Longwood with five goals apiece. They rank 63rd nationally and fifth in the Big South in total goals.
- Longwood jumped out to its best Division I start in school history at 5-0 and along the way earned its first vote in program history in the United Soccer Coaches National Top 25 this season.
