Laura Snead, a Longwood alum and former Lancer women's golfer, joined Longwood Athletics in September, 2015 and was promoted to Associate Athletics Director/External Operations in January, 2021. She also served as Director of Administrative Services and Assistant Athletics Director/Administrative Services.
Snead manages the department’s business operations and human resource responsibilities while also handling general fiscal duties. Snead came to athletics after holding a grants specialist position in Longwood’s Office of Sponsored Programs & Research since 2012.
Her desire to join the department stemmed from her time as a Longwood student-athlete, contributing to the women’s golf team not only on the course, but in the classroom as a four-time scholar-athlete honoree before graduating in 2010.
Snead earned her master’s degree in business administration from Longwood in August, 2012, and has built strong relationships across campus since she started to make her mark on the university 10 years ago in the first year of her undergraduate education.
