Biography

2020-21: One of eight Lancers to start all 10 games…anchored Longwood as a center midfielder…attempted just six shots all season…played at least 90 minutes in six of her 10 games, including two 110-minute overtime marathons…key piece of a Longwood team that surrendered the third-fewest goals (10) in the Big South and had the fourth-lowest goals against average (0.94)…also helped the Lancers climb to fourth place in goals scored with 12…graduated from Longwood with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Middle School Math Education…recipient of the Bob McCloskey Insurance Big South Conference Graduate Fellowship…also awarded the Longwood University Dan Daniel Senior Award for Scholarship and Citizen at Longwood’s 2021 commencement… received the Big South Commissioner’s Award for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the 2020-21 academic year…served as President of the Longwood Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the national SAAC representative for the Big South Conference…also served as a Senior Guiding Light for the Longwood University CHI organization.

2019: Returned from a season-ending injury to start all 17 games in the midfield…played the fifth-most minutes on the team…made an impact on both ends of the field, helping Longwood finish fourth in the Big South in both fewest goals allowed and goals against average…played at least 80 minutes nine times, including three 100-minute outings…helped Longwood to a 1-0-2 overtime record in those 100-minute performances…scored her first career goal in a 3-0 rout of USC Upstate, punctuating that victory with an unassisted by strike from outside the box in the 87th minute (Oct. 12)…played every minute of a 0-0 draw against High Point (Oct. 23)...served as vice president of the Longwood Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

2018: Missed the 2018 season while recovering from injury…served as vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)...named a Longwood Scholar-Athlete…named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

2017: Named to the Big South All-Freshman Team after appearing in all 21 games and making 19 starts…played 1,252 minutes, the second-most among Longwood’s freshman class behind only Big South Freshman of the Year Carrie Reaver…played primarily a defensive role, contributing to a backline that led the Big South with 11 shutouts and a 0.55 goals against average…played at least 70 minutes four times, including a career-high 92 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Big South rival Campbell (10/4)…named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll…a Longwood Scholar-Athlete.

High School: Three-sport athlete at Walkersville High School…lettered four years in soccer, three years in basketball and twice in unified track…started every game of her high school soccer career, totaling eight goals and 19 assists…earned all-conference first team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior…helped Walkersville win the conference title as a junior…also won a regional championship with the basketball team in 2014…scored two goals and dished six assists as a senior…scored a career-high four goals and dished six assists as a junior…named MVP of the 2016 Crab Pot Tournament…received the Coaches Leadership Award in 2016…Walkerville’s most outstanding player in 2014 and 2016…member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society…an All-American scholar…four-time MPSSA Scholar-Athlete…a member of the Executive Board as a junior and senior…volunteered at numerous athletics camps…participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraiser…member of the Key Club.
 
Personal: Born Madison Lee Hommey on March 9, 1999…daughter of Chuck and Heather Hommey…has a brother, Zach…comes from several generations of collegiate athletes…brother, Zach played soccer at Lock Haven…father, Chuck, played soccer at West Virginia…grandfather, Wayne Duncan Sr., played basketball at Shepherd University…uncles Wayne Duncan Jr., Jamie Duncan, and Rob Duncan, also played collegiate basketball at Oglethorpe University, St. Mary’s University and Elizabethtown College, respectively.
